James Hong Yung Chung 88 Exhibition

#singaporeguide The James Hong Yung Chung Retrospective Exhibition was a celebration of the artistic achievements of James Hong Yung Chung over the decades. It took place at the Visual Arts Centre in Singapore from December 7 to December 11, 2024. The exhibition showcased his works, including calligraphy and landscape paintings, and aimed to foster artistic exchange among enthusiasts. James Hong Yung Chung is a celebrated artist known for his mastery in calligraphy and landscape painting. His artistic journey began in his youth, practicing independently before formally studying floral painting at the age of 20. In 1964, he became a student of Peng Ximing, specializing in landscape painting. After moving from Hong Kong to Singapore in 1971, he connected with prominent art collectors and deepened his artistic insights. His works have been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions in Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shaoxing, and Shangyu since 1997. His paintings are now part of collections at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the Nanyang University Museum in Singapore, and private collections in the UK, US, and Germany. Visitors enjoyed the venue at 10 Penang Rd, #01-02, Dhoby Ghaut Green, Singapore 238469, and entry was free for all. It was a great opportunity for art lovers to appreciate some incredible works.
