York Hotel Staycation

#exlporesgtogether #exploresgtogether #momentssg #staycation York Hotel was a member of the Goodwood Park Hotel Group and hence it was located near Goodwood Park Hotel albeit further in, opposite Quincy Hotel. The staff at check in was friendly, and registration and check in was fast and everything was in order. However, when we went into our room, it turned out that there were only 2 single beds instead of the promised 3 beds and the room did not smell good too. When we approached another staff to request that our bed be brought up immediately because we wanted to settle down in the room (didn't even request change of room), we were met with nonchalance. However, the front office manager gave us a family room with futon as service recovery for the experience and late check out. The room was way more spacious and clean. Fortunately, they did not forget the birthday cake which looked and tasted good 😋 was also a whole cake instead of just a slice. We also had fruits as part of the package. Facilties wise, the swimming pool was nice and clean, and opened till quite late. Had our afternoon tea which was simple; not the usual afternoon tea on tiered stands but instead consisted of pancakes and ice cream, with coffee and tea. They had a cute old school ice kacang machine to make ice balls for guests. Breakfast was surprisingly good for a 4* hotel with great variety; to be honest even better than some of the 5* hotels that I know of. Not withstanding the hiccup at the reception desk, everything else was okay for me.
