Khao Phra Khru Monastery This monastery was started from the faith in the pilgrimage of Phra Khru Thammathorn Thiang, which led to the first hut on this mountain in 1936 by the donation of Chao Chom M.R. Saphap during the reign of King Rama V. Since then, the villagers have called it Khao Phra Khru Monastery. After the death of both Phra Khru (Phra Khru Thammathorn Thiang and Phra Khru Pariyattiwarat [Luang Pho Phiw]), it was not until the era of Phra Ajarn Anont Suntho (President of Khao Phra Khru Monastery) who developed and restored this mountain into a place for meditation and a viewpoint of Si Racha. The beautiful Buddhist art with the pearl-white Buddha and Thai sculptures painted in blue-green tones stand out as unique and distinctive… especially the Phra Phuttha Leela Naga Barami.
