Construction began in 331 AD. Originally known as Dongguan as it was the capital of Dongguan Province, the city boasts some of the city's most impressive structures, including the 600-year-old city wall, which remains beautifully intact and captivating. There are also revered shrines in Nantou. 🎗 Nantou Ancient City boasts a mix of modern architecture and newer buildings, all while maintaining the distinct theme of Nantou. Inside, old buildings are renovated, serving as shops selling handmade souvenirs and charming restaurants. Many Chinese tourists come here to take photos in traditional Chinese clothing and relax on weekends. Including international tourists. 🎫 Nantou Ancient City is free to enter. Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
