Shenyang Forest Zoo

Shenyang Forest Zoo is located in the Qipanshan International Scenery and Tourism Development Zone in Shenyang, 17 kilometers away from the city center. It was established in 2000, covering an area of 217 hectares, and officially opened on December 9, 2000. The zoo exhibits more than 80 species and over 1,300 animals from around the world. It is the only comprehensive state-owned zoo in Shenyang that displays a variety of rare wild animals. It is also the youth science education base of Liaoning Province and Shenyang City, as well as the artificial breeding and scientific research base for the Red-crowned Crane in China.
