Shenyang Heping Bay Spring Lantern Festival (Part I)

Promoting Shenyang's night economy and boosting Shenyang's cultural and tourism development. Recently, the 'Dragon Dance·Shen Water Yang' 2024 First Shenyang Heping Bay Spring Lantern Festival grandly opened in Shenyang Heping Cup World Football Park. 5 major themed lantern areas, 6 major themed activities, 100,000 lanterns create a brilliant scene, creating a super-large comprehensive cultural feast for Liaoshen citizens, integrating 'lantern viewing, performing arts, food, and entertainment'. 56 sets of Zigong lanterns, the intangible cultural heritage 'Sugar Lamp Nine Dragon Wall' debuted in the park. 56 sets of lanterns highlight the colorful lantern art features of 'shape, movement, novelty, and beauty'. Among them, the '240-meter Giant Dragon Corridor', 'Dragon Traveling the World', 'Three Kingdoms Panda', 'Mountain and Sea Myth', 'Fairy Tale Paradise' and other lantern shapes are peculiar, like pictures and scenes. For the first time, the lantern festival showed a 'Sugar Lamp Nine Dragon Wall' lamp group imitating the Beijing Forbidden City Nine Dragon Wall. As a world heritage application work and a historical heritage of Chinese traditional culture, the 'Sugar Lamp Nine Dragon Wall' is transformed from sugar painting, using sugar as a material for modeling. The tools used are only a spoon and a shovel. It imitates the Beijing Forbidden City Nine Dragon Wall, which is 22 meters long and 5.5 meters high. It is made by using relief pasting technology. It is closely cooperated by 10 lamp makers. It uses nearly five tons of sugar and takes more than 40 days to finally complete.
