Beautiful Old Town in Shaoxing

Shaoxing is a popular day trip destination in the Zhejiang province, as you can get there in as fast as 15min on the high-speed train from Hangzhou/ Suzhou. And apart from being the old residence of Luxun, the legendary Chinese novelist, and the origin of Shaoxing yellow wine, they have a beautiful old town named Anchang Ancient Town, which is a thousand-year-old town featured recently on CCTV. Once you set foot in the old town, it’s like you enter the ancient era, with red lanterns hung all around and wooden houses built along the river.
