The legendary Bund, Night and Day

The Bund, the symbol of Shanghai, the visual representation of its historical development is a legendary waterfront located on the western bank of Huangpu River in Shanghai. It houses about 52 colonial buildings also referred to as “the museum of buildings” of various architectural styles, including Gothic, baroque and neoclassical styles and on the opposite you have the view of skyscrapers with futuristic architectural styles. It is the very unique charm of Shanghai where all times are simultaneously present. There are many ways to experience The Bund. Among these ways are for example: A nice stroll at any time of the day. There are nice walking areas for sightseeing. Or rather just enjoy a cocktail on the rooftops of one of these historical buildings or hotels and watch the sunset (I recommend to start at 5-6pm). Some of my favorite views are from “Char Bar”, “The VUE Bar”, “Pop Bar” and the more down to earth “The Captain”. Or if you want a magical experience, after a long night out and sit on one of the benches at the Bund and watch the sunrise and experience the city waking up. It’s beautiful to see the locals practicing Tai-Qi or flying kites when the sun rises in the Morning. Either way, The Bund is really reflects what makes Shanghai, Shanghai.
