Stay in Kyoto in downtown Shanghai! The private hot spring courtyard welds romance into the onsen

This time in Shanghai, I unexpectedly found this divine Japanese-style courtyard guesthouse in the city! Shanghai Yusu He Ting Hotel literally brings Kyoto to the Magic City, a quiet and private sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle. Soaking in the hot spring with my boyfriend while watching the courtyard outside the window, I almost thought I had traveled to Arashiyama✨ 🍃 Private hot spring paradise: Each room has its own private courtyard hot spring, with natural mineral water changed daily. At night, light the lanterns and soak in the warm hot spring while watching the moonlight shine on the bamboo forest—romance level maxed out! A little secret: having a floating breakfast while soaking in the morning is even more amazing (advance reservation required). 📸 Kimono photo paradise: The hotel offers many sets of authentic silk kimonos to wear for free! From furisode to yukata, complete with wooden clogs and oil-paper umbrellas. Every corner of the courtyard is perfect for photos: red bridge over flowing water, dry rock garden, bamboo path... Posting on social media, everyone asks if I went to Japan. 🎎 Immersive experience: • The DIY workshop is super fun! We made cherry blossom wind chimes that tinkle when the wind blows in the courtyard. • At night, you can copy sutras and meditate in the tea room; the calligraphy book is the Heart Sutra. • During festivals, you can join limited events like fireworks nights and tea ceremony classes. 🚇 Prime location: At 1247 Meichuan Road, just 5 minutes from Zhenbei Road Station on Metro Line 13. Nearby are Kintetsu City Plaza and 118 Plaza, perfect for walking and dining. The best part! There’s an authentic kaiseki restaurant next door offering an 15% discount for guests (the sea urchin rice is amazing). 💯 Accommodation experience: We stayed in the "Tsukimi" room type, which is 50㎡! The tatami area is perfect for tea and enjoying the view. The bedding is made entirely of cypress wood, giving off a faint woody fragrance. The bathroom is equipped with a smart toilet and Dyson hairdryer, and toiletries are all from POLA. ⚠️ Practical tips: • Private hot spring rooms are very popular! Book at least 2 weeks in advance. • Check-in at 3 PM includes welcome tea and plum wine. • You can pet the little cats in the courtyard but please don’t feed them. • Avoid weekends during peak season; weekdays are quieter. Who would have thought you could find such a secluded paradise in bustling Shanghai?
