Shanghai | Dishui Lake, the Easternmost Artificial Lake in Shanghai

Located at the easternmost point of Shanghai, Dishui Lake is a vast circular artificial lake. When viewed from above, it resembles a droplet of water, hence the name "Dishui Lake." The lake spans a diameter of approximately 2.6 kilometers and features three islands—North, West, and South. At the center of the lake lies a "ring" designed in the shape of a shell and a sail, which has become one of the iconic features of Dishui Lake. Dishui Lake is situated in the Pudong New Area, with its water sourced from the Huangpu River and directly connected to the East China Sea via a sluice gate. The area is relatively quiet with fresh air, making it an ideal spot for kite flying, fishing, speed boating, or cycling around the lake. With the opening of a metro station, transportation to Dishui Lake has become more convenient. As a result, the lakeside now hosts several five-star hotels, lake-view restaurants, cafes, and yacht clubs, contributing to its growing popularity.
