The iconic "Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund" consists of the historic 1910 "Club Building" and a modern new tower. This time, I stayed in the Club Suite. Classic Ionic columns, Baroque-style turrets, and black-and-white marble floors. The guest rooms are a perfect blend of European elegance and Chinese aesthetics, embodying the "old money" charm. 🛏️ The canopy curtains over the bed and clawfoot bathtub add to the atmosphere. 🎶 Live music in the courtyard and a quiet drink at the third-floor lounge. 🍳 Breakfast is somewhat ordinary, and while the minibar is complimentary, the selection is limited. 📍Location, ambiance, architectural beauty, and tranquility. This classical experience, away from the hustle and bustle of the Bund, is something you can't find in the new tower. Rooms labeled "Club" are highly recommended for booking!
