Sunbathing at the Expo Celebration Square is the most chill thing to do in Shanghai in winter.

After visiting the China Pavilion of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the China Art Museum, you must walk along the Expo Axis to the Celebration Square on the Huangpu River. Especially in the afternoon in winter, the warm sunshine makes your skin hot. Watching the ships shuttling back and forth on the river, watching the teenagers running, cycling, and skateboarding flash by, or watching the toddlers make you laugh, is a very chill thing to do in winter. When the World Expo was held in Shanghai in 2010, the Celebration Square on the banks of the Huangpu River was one of the main public event venues. The designer of the square, French architect Jean-Marie Charpentier, adopted a minimalist approach, using a "water mirror" to collect the scenery of the Expo Cultural Center and the Sunshine Valley of the Expo Axis. The reflection and refraction of the water mist wonderfully integrate the elements of architecture, nature, and humanity. To the north of the square is the Mercedes-Benz Arena, formerly known as the Expo Cultural Center, with a main venue of 18,000 seats, as well as a music club, cinema, ice rink, restaurant, retail area, and other functional areas. It is the first choice for many stars to hold concerts. The shape of the Mercedes-Benz Arena is like an alien flying saucer, full of modernity. To the south of the square is the Expo Cultural Park, which covers an area of about 2 square kilometers.
