Foodie Diaries: Nachos and Margaritas

Another nice place to watch Euro 2020 with a chance of life music is Pistolera. This is Henshan branch, located near JiaoTong University and next to Xujiahui Park. Place is big, ambience is great and has a beautiful terrace for summer days. Food is delicious, one of the most recommended are the nachos. Let me say, big dishes are actually BIG. We ordered nachos al pastor (pork), were more like pork fajitas, but quite good. The fiesta dish allowed us to try different dishes in one, highly recommend it. Just remember to add habanero sauce. The tortilla soup is quite nice, too. This soup is very popular in Mesoamerica region (also called Aztec soup), mostly made with tomato and chicken. An important recommendation is to buy a jar instead of single margaritas, whichever the kind you chose (there are a lot of different options but we went for the classic one). One jar is 250-300RMB and fills 5-6 glasses, while a single margarita costs 70-80RMB. Now, one of my biggest disappointment was the ‘ceviche peruano’ (pic 8), whatever that is, and even if doesn’t taste bad, is the furthest I had even encounter with a ceviche. Ceviche is a fish-based dish.
