Seongsu – A trendy neighborhood in Seoul with great food and famous brands

💫Seongsu has been one of the most sought-after areas in Seoul in recent years. The highlight is the transformation of old factory spaces into uniquely designed shops, cafes, and galleries. The atmosphere is raw and cool, mixed with minimalism, suitable for shopaholics, photographers, and those who want to experience the city in a less chaotic way. A major highlight is the Dior flagship store, which is located in a strikingly designed building. It is both a shopping area and a popular photo spot. 🍚If you go to Seongsu and want to find something warm to warm your stomach, we recommend stopping by "Solsot," a Korean-style claypot rice restaurant that uses high-quality rice and serves it hot in a stone pot. There are a full set of side dishes in the authentic Korean style. After eating the stonepot rice at Solsot, there will be crispy rice stuck to the bottom of the pot (누룽지, Nurungji), which we will pour the clear soup provided by the restaurant into. Wait for the rice to become crispy and soft before eating. This method is called "숭늉 (Sungnyung)," which is a traditional Korean method that adds flavor and warmth to the meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and simple, with customers all day long. You have to make a reservation at the shop first, then walk around and find something to do while waiting in line. (🚨Recently, Solsot has just opened a new branch at CentralWorld. If you haven't had a chance to try it in Korea, you can try the branch in Thailand. Personally, when I have a chance, I'll try it to see how much the taste is different from the branch in Korea.) 🥐Another shop that has a lot of people queuing up is "Beton's", a small bakery that bakes bread fresh, piece by piece. The aroma wafts out from the front of the shop. The average price of bread is 90-100 baht (KRW 3,500-4,000). There are many fillings to choose from, such as the shop's signature salt bread. After choosing the bread, the shop will bake it for you. It takes about 5-10 minutes. I must say that it comes out hot and fragrant. It's so awesome. I'm so impressed. (🚨Every piece of bread is freshly baked. There is a limited amount each day. If you go late, the bread may run out.) In addition to these famous shops, Seongsu is also full of chic cafes, multi-brand fashion stores, and art studios hidden in various alleys. You can walk around looking for a photo spot or find a cafe to chill out at. There are endless options. This is an area that offers both atmosphere and inspiration.
