Seoul | Rice mill transformed into a fashionable cafe, Daelim Warehouse in Seongsu-dong is loved by even Korean stars

If Onion in Seongsu-dong is a ruin-style warehouse, then Daelim Warehouse is an industrial-style art warehouse. It was originally a rice mill. With the industrial transformation, it became an abandoned factory. Until 2016, architects cleverly transformed the warehouse into an art gallery and cafe. Korean stars Taeyong, SJ Yesung and others have been there, and it is also the filming location for BIGBANG's MV. The red brick warehouse is so low-key that it only has a mottled sign, and you might miss it if you don’t pay attention. It is divided into three parts: art gallery, bar and cafe. When you enter Dalin Warehouse, you will first see wooden artworks that look like aircraft and rice mills. The high-ceilinged warehouse gives you the illusion of walking into Brooklyn. It's a self-service place. You first choose bread, desserts and light meals, then go to the counter to order drinks and pay together. The famous thing here is the bottled strawberry milk. I came late on the day of my visit, not only did I not see the strawberry milk, but even the bread was almost taken away. Later I chose a bread and coffee, but maybe I didn’t make the right choice, so there was nothing memorable about it.
