Hyangwonjeong Pavilion of Gyeongbokgung

#falltrip One of Gyeongbokgung Palace's most alluring spots, Hyangwonjeong Pavilion, has finally been restored after three years! The Pavilion's original beauty was revived through the participation of some of Korea's top master craftsmen during the restoration project. Constructed around 1885, the Hyangwonjeong Pavilion is a hexagonal-shaped structure built upon an artificial island in the middle of a pond! What was once a resting place for the king and the royal family, the Pavilion's name holds the meaning of"A far-spreading scent." Lotus flowers have been planted within the Pavilion's pond emitting many subtle pleasant scents.
