This palace is also one of the five largest palaces in Seoul. It was built by King Taejong of Joseon (1405) after Gyeongbokgung Palace. The palaces and pavilions of Changdeokgung were designed basically in accordance with the natural terrain. It is the most natural palace in the royal palaces of Korea and also the best preserved one.
