Asokaram Temple

A beautiful temple in Bang Pu, built as a memorial to Emperor Ashoka of India, hence the name Asokaram Temple. The temple covers a vast area with plenty of shade and various plants. Upon entering the temple, you will see the Phra Thutangkha Chedi, a large and prominent white pagoda. It consists of 13 pagodas, each enshrining relics of the Buddha, commemorating the 13 ascetic practices. Additionally, it houses relics of famous monks such as Luang Pu Waen and Luang Pu Cha. Visitors can walk around, chant prayers, or meditate. It is very hot during the day, so it is recommended to visit in the morning when it is cooler and more comfortable to explore. The Wisutthithamrangsri Vihara, located opposite the pagoda, is a three-story building. The top floor enshrines Buddha relics and the body of Phra Ajahn Lee. It is currently used as a place for monks to perform their duties. Next to it is a large statue of Emperor Ashoka. There are also buildings for meditation practice and a nunnery. Phra Ajahn Lee's beloved vehicle is also on display. Opening hours: 08:30 AM - 04:30 PM.
