Romantic Porto Travel Review – Alleys, Wine, and People

Porto is a small city that leaves a lasting impression on your heart. Each alley felt like a living art gallery, allowing me to travel more slowly and deeply. On the first day of my arrival in Porto, walking along the Douro River with a glass of wine in hand made for a perfect start to the trip. Crossing the Dom Luís I Bridge, I could feel the scale and warmth of Porto, a memory that remains vivid to this day. On the second day, I visited Porto's iconic landmarks, including São Bento Station, Livraria Lello, and Clérigos Tower. Though the city has many stairs and hills, it’s a place where walking is more enjoyable. I experienced Porto wine through the Sandeman cellar tour, which offered detailed explanations and satisfying tastings. Porto wine has a deep and unique aroma, making it a perfect companion for meals throughout the trip. On the last day, I shopped for groceries and souvenirs at a local market, and I highly recommend 'Pingo Doce' for its reasonable prices. The cost of living was surprisingly affordable, and walking is preferable to public transportation. Comfortable sneakers are a must. Even after the trip, I keep reminiscing about Porto’s warmth and atmosphere. It’s a city I’d love to return to someday, and I’m already preparing for our next meeting.
