For my 2D1N escape to Port Dickson, I checked into Hotel Avillion—a property perched right by the sea, with the beach tucked just below my room on the ground floor. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a sense of space and subtle nostalgia. The room was generously sized, exuding a kind of old-world charm with its retro-style plasma TV and dated air-conditioning unit—functional, though clearly from another era.
From the window, I could catch glimpses of the ocean—a calm, expansive view that added a quiet rhythm to the stay. While there was no balcony to step out onto, the sea’s presence still lingered just beyond the glass, offering a sense of proximity to nature without leaving the room.
Despite the slightly aged amenities, the overall ambiance held a certain warmth. It felt less like a polished resort experience and more like a lived-in retreat—a quiet corner of comfort where time slows and the sound of the waves does most of the talking.
