Chom Sawan Temple

Wat Chom Sawan, Phrae is an ancient temple built in the style of Bagan (Burmese). This temple is special because it has only one wooden chapel, which is both a chapel and a monk's residence, in the same building. The building is made entirely of teak wood, with a small and large roof that is layered in 9 levels. The highlight of the chapel is the carved wood pattern and the decoration of colored glass on the ceiling. There are stairs up and down on both sides in the front, decorated with brass, hammered and drilled into Burmese patterns. The wooden pillars in the chapel are lacquered and gilded, decorated with gold-colored patterns. There are messages in Burmese inscriptions around the pillars. Near the chapel is a Burmese-style pagoda, similar to the top of the prang of Wat Chet Yot, Chiang Mai.
