Wat Kudi Dao

Wat Kudi Dao, Ayutthaya Province 🙏It is an abandoned temple built during the reign of King Narai the Great and renovated during the reign of King Borommakot. It consists of a large chapel with the beauty of the late Ayutthaya period, namely, a concave central base and a round pagoda with parallel pillars. 🪷The chapel is located in front of the temple and in front of the large pagoda. It is a brick and mortar building with front and back porches. The shape of the base on the side is a curved, sagging shape like the hull of a ship in the Ayutthaya style. There are still traces of stucco in the form of a spire or castle shape that can be seen only a little. 👍The large pagoda or the main pagoda of the temple is located behind the pagoda. It is currently in a state of ruin, meaning the spire is broken, leaving only a part of the bell-shaped body. On the circumambulation area, there are 8 pagodas in each direction. They are round bell-shaped pagodas on an octagonal base. 🪷The chapel is located behind the main pagoda. It has front and back porches made of brick and mortar. The building is smaller than the pagoda, but the bases of the front and back porches are not tapered. The sides are curved, sagging less than the pagoda. 🙏The palace is located to the north outside the Buddhavasa wall. It is a 2-storey building made of brick and mortar. The plan is rectangular. The building is located on a lotus base with a curved shape like the hull of a ship. The bases of the front and back porches are lion bases, similar to the lion bases of the ordination hall and the temple. There are two staircases on the side.
