Bored of Bangkok? Just fly to Penang for 2 days and 1 night.

Sometimes boredom leads us to new adventures. This is the story of a trip that decided to buy a plane ticket on Friday night and traveled to Penang on Saturday morning without thinking much. Day 1: Explore Georgetown, experience the chill by the sea As soon as the plane landed in Penang, I didn't hesitate. For the first breakfast, I went all out at Fu Er Dai, a famous dim sum restaurant that locals recommended to try. This restaurant was always crowded, but it was worth the wait because they had a wide variety of dim sum to choose from and every dish was delicious. After recharging my energy, I walked around Georgetown, along the alleys full of old buildings and wall art or street art that can be found all over the city. I walked around until I found a café that I liked, The Maker Café. This is a small shop with a very cute decoration. The atmosphere is comfortable, perfect for sitting and relaxing to escape the heat and sipping on a cup of fragrant coffee. It was time to check in at Citadines Connect Hotel. The hotel is in a good location and easy to travel to. When I checked into my room, I asked to rest before going out for a walk in the evening. The next destination was Gurney Plaza, a shopping mall that I had been to since I was a child. Now it has been renovated, beautiful and very modern. I enjoyed shopping. Then we walked to Gurney Bay Park, a public park built from reclaimed land. The atmosphere is great, perfect for a walk to catch the sea breeze and watch the sunset. In the evening, it's time to relax. We chose to chill at Good Friends Club, a bar with a very friendly atmosphere. All the staff are lovely and friendly. The cocktails here are delicious. There are also snacks to enjoy while listening to great live music. It's a perfect way to end the first night. Day 2: A super hip market before flying back On Sunday morning, after having breakfast at the hotel, we went to a market that everyone shouldn't miss, the Hin Bus Depot Sunday Pop-Up Market. Here, there are not only cool craft works, but also a variety of food, products, and art for you to choose from. There is also a band playing great music, creating a lively atmosphere in the market. After walking around and getting some souvenirs to take home, it was time to head to the airport to catch our flight back to Bangkok. It was a short but fulfilling trip. We got to relax, eat delicious food, and recharge from boredom to start a new week again. #travel #penang #malayisa
