Let me introduce the dinner at Tokachigawa Moor Onsen Seiketsubo! The dinner menu was presented as a small booklet, and flipping through it was a delight as each page revealed mouthwatering dishes! ～～～～～～～～～～～～ 🥢 Early Spring Kaiseki ～～～～～～～～～～～～ ⚫︎ Appetizers Nanohana (rapeseed blossoms) with mustard dressing, kombu with roe, tender simmered octopus, jelly with cod roe, smoked salmon and cheese wrapped in pastry, potato and spinach mille-feuille, simmered grilled millet gluten. ⚫︎ Sashimi 🐟 Mirugai (geoduck clam), honmaguro (bluefin tuna), botan shrimp, hirame (flounder) cut into flower shapes. ⚫︎ Hot Pot 🍲 Fugu (pufferfish) chiri nabe. ⚫︎ Palate Cleanser 🍨 Kiwi sorbet 🥝 ⚫︎ Main Dish 🍽️ Obihiro beef fillet steak (Pinot Noir mustard sauce, wasabi, rock salt) ⚫︎ Steamed Dish Tamago-shime with foie gras (Shark fin and crab sauce 🦀) ⚫︎ Rice Dish Tai (sea bream) chazuke 🐟 ⚫︎ Dessert 🍰 Fresh dorayaki and matcha ice cream 🍵 ～～～～～～～～～～～～～～ Everything was delicious, but... The fugu chiri nabe and Obihiro beef fillet steak were especially amazing 🤤 The fugu was plump and flavorful, and the steak was not only tender and delicious, but the red wine-infused mustard sauce was absolutely divine!!! (Sorry for my lack of vocabulary) Fugu is such a luxurious fish that you rarely get to eat it unless you're at a hot spring inn, so I was thrilled!!! (I think it’s been 5–6 years since I last had it 😇) After dinner, we took a photo in front of a hollowed-out tree at the entrance of the dining area 🪵. It was so large that it looked like you could step inside! After dinner, I strolled around the inn, bought some chips to enjoy with beer in my room, and headed back 🍟.
