Oslo in 1 day 🇳🇴

📅 Itinerary • OSLO OPERA HOUSE: The most iconic landmark in Oslo. From the rooftop, you can enjoy amazing views of the city. • VIGELAND PARK: Also known as the Sculpture Park, it’s the work of Gustav Vigeland and undoubtedly one of the city’s most famous parks. The most well-known sculpture is the 17-meter-high Monolith, carved from a single block of granite and featuring 121 intertwined human figures. Don’t forget to touch the Angry Boy (Sinnataggen) statue’s fist — it’s said to bring good luck. • OSLO CITY HALL: This is where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony takes place. You can visit the main hall and admire murals depicting the history of the Norwegian people. Free entrance. • ROYAL PALACE: Official residence of the Norwegian royal family. Don’t miss the Royal Guard’s changing of the guard at 1:30 p.m. A great place to watch it is from Karl Johans gate. The full ceremony lasts around 40 minutes. • KARL JOHANS GATE: Oslo’s main street. It connects the Royal Palace to the central train station along a one-kilometer pedestrian boulevard. Along the way, you’ll find the Norwegian Parliament and, nearby, Oslo Cathedral. There are also many souvenir shops. Next to the train station, you’ll find the famous 4.5-meter-long tiger statue. • DEICHMAN PUBLIC LIBRARY: Opened in 2020, it’s one of the most modern libraries in the world. It was founded thanks to Carl Deichman, who donated his entire collection to the city in 1780. • MUNCH MUSEUM: Reopened in 2021 with four times more exhibition space. It houses the world’s most extensive collection of works by Edvard Munch, making it one of the largest museums in the world dedicated to a single artist. On the 13th floor, there’s a spectacular restaurant with panoramic views. (Admission required.) • AKERSHUS FORTRESS: A must-see. Built in the Middle Ages to protect the city from invasions, it includes the medieval castle constructed in 1300. Inside, you’ll find the Resistance Museum and the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum. The views of the city and the fjord from here are fantastic. • NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NORWAY: Opened in June 2022, this is the most important art gallery in Norway, with more than 5,000 works. The museum’s Munch Room displays some of the artist’s most famous paintings, including one of the four original versions of The Scream. 🏨 Oslo Center 🍴 The Salmon 📌 Norway is expensive!! #oslo #norway #thesalmon #travel #couplestrip
