First Experience at InterContinental Hotel Japan

The InterContinental Hotel Osaka is conveniently located near Umeda Station and just an 8-minute walk from Osaka JR Station. After exiting the subway, you cross a corridor bridge to find a discreet entrance on the B1 floor of a shopping mall. The lobby and breakfast area are situated on the 20th floor. For Japan, the rooms are quite spacious at 52 square meters, complete with a walk-in closet where you can sit and change clothes—a thoughtful design. The shower and bathtub are in the same wet area, allowing you to rinse off after a bath without splashing water everywhere. The room offers a view of Osaka's cityscape, and by the window, there are two incredibly comfortable armchairs. After a day of exploring, my friend and I would each curl up in one, perfect for unwinding. The desk is also large, making it convenient for work or spreading out belongings. The breakfast selection isn’t extensive but covers all the essentials. Options include Japanese udon, Western pastries, and various side dishes, along with a wide variety of juices. Each guest can order one egg dish and a cup of coffee or tea, with choices like scrambled eggs, poached eggs, or sunny-side-up eggs. My friend would have two bowls of rice every morning, claiming it was to fuel the day’s adventures. Transportation around the area is incredibly convenient, and getting to Kyoto is also straightforward. However, our packed itinerary didn’t allow for a visit this time. Nearby, there are drugstores and a Lawson convenience store, making it easy to stock up on supplies. We also tried the hotel’s swimming pool, which was nearly empty on weekdays. The water is heated, and the depth is about 1.2 meters. The changing rooms are very clean and well-equipped, allowing you to shower before heading back to your room. The hotel staff speaks decent English, making basic communication easy. Many foreign guests stay here, giving the hotel an international vibe and making it a comfortable and reassuring place to stay.
