Ancient Rhythms: A Quiet Prayer at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine

#Osaka Attractions Early in the morning, I took the Nankai Electric Railway, passed through the hustle and bustle of the city, and arrived at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine in Osaka. As soon as you step into the shrine, you will be attracted by the tranquility and solemnity here. Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. It has a unique Sumiyoshi-style architecture, with vermilion torii gates and lush green trees complementing each other. I first washed my hands in the hand-washing pavilion, feeling the inner peace of the traditional ritual, and then walked to the main hall to pay my respects. The stone lanterns and moss-covered stone paths in the shrine add a touch of time to the place. I paid special attention to the Taiko Bridge, a curved bridge that spans the pond like a rainbow, with its reflection in the water, like a dream. In the afternoon, I sat quietly by the pond, watching the carp swimming leisurely, and time seemed to slow down. After the tour, I headed to a nearby traditional teahouse and had a bowl of matcha and a serving of wagashi, which was the perfect end to the day.
