Khemmaphirataram Temple

Wat Khema Phirataram..A second-class royal temple of the royal monasteries, an ancient temple since the early Ayutthaya period Wat Khema Phirataram is located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River in Suan Yai Subdistrict, approximately 2 kilometers south of Nonthaburi city. The front of the temple is on the river bank, while the back is on Phibun Songkhram Road. It is a second-class royal temple of the royal monasteries, built in the early Ayutthaya period and called “Wat Khema.” Later, during the reign of King Rama IV, the entire temple was renovated and the name “Wat Khema Phirataram” was added. In 1982, the Chakri Dynasty was 200 years old. There was a ceremony to celebrate the Rattanakosin Era. The temple committee believed that this temple was important to the Chakri Dynasty. The royal family has supported it all along. Therefore, they decided to build a multi-purpose hall called the Rattanakosin 200th Anniversary Hall. Inside the temple, there is a 30-meter-high Maha Chedi located behind the chapel, containing the relics of the Lord Buddha. The principal Buddha image is an old cast Buddha image. Ayutthaya art was invited from the Chandra Kasem Palace.
