Wat Pho Chai (Luang Pho Phra Sai), Nong Khai

Wat Pho Chai (Luang Pho Phra Sai) is located in Mueang District, Nong Khai Province. It enshrines Luang Pho Phra Sai, an important Buddha image of Nong Khai Province. It is a Buddha image in the meditation posture, Mara-Vijaya posture, cast from bright gold. It is very sacred. According to history, there were angels, who were humans with morality and virtue, dressed in white, who helped cast it, so it was successful. The casting required pumping the gold furnace for 8 days before it was finished. When the casting was complete, the Buddha image was named in order: 1. Luang Pho Phra Suk (for the eldest image) 2. Luang Pho Phra Soem (for the middle image) 3.
