A Summer Getaway to Taiwan: Two Days of Adventure

Escaping the sweltering heat of Korea, I embarked on a short 1-night, 2-day summer trip to Taipei, Taiwan. Despite the humid and hot weather, the vibrant atmosphere and delicious food unique to Taiwan felt even more alive. Day 1: Arrival in the afternoon at Taoyuan Airport. After taking the Taipei MRT to check into my accommodation in Ximending, I took a brief break at a café with strong air conditioning. As the sun began to set, I strolled through the streets of Ximending, cooling off with local mango shaved ice and refreshing cold dishes. At night, I headed to Ningxia Night Market for a food adventure, where the combination of crispy fried chicken and cold beer was simply unbeatable. Day 2: The morning started with the "Yehliu, Shifen, Jiufen" tour. Yehliu was scorching hot, so bringing an umbrella was essential. At Shifen, I released sky lanterns while drenched in sweat, but the photos turned out amazing. Jin Gua Shi offered a relatively cool mountain village vibe, and the miner's lunchbox was surprisingly neat and tasty. When I arrived at Jiufen, a sudden downpour added charm to the view of red lanterns under the rain. Although the hot weather drained my energy, it made the summer trip all the more memorable. The photos turned out beautiful, the food was delicious, and I was able to capture the essence of Taiwan in just two days.
