New Taipei City Art Museum

Designed by architect Yao Ren-Xi, the New Taipei City Art Museum features a structure with three underground levels and eight above-ground floors. The museum includes exhibition halls, a children's art gallery, and outdoor spaces such as an art street and sculpture area. The expansive grounds require some time to explore fully. Inspired by reeds, the building's modern exterior features tubular walls of varying heights, creating a dynamic yet composed appearance. Standing proudly at the confluence of the Dahan River and Yingge River, the silver-white facade exudes a light and ethereal charm, shimmering in the sunlight like reed flowers swaying in the breeze. The outdoor lawn is spacious, making it ideal for children to play. However, as the trees are not yet fully grown, the area can be quite hot, so it's advisable to bring sun protection. There is also a water play area for kids. Some parts of the museum are still under construction, but once completed, it will be a great destination for family outings. In the morning, you can plan a hike along the Yingge Sunlong Trail, located near Yingge Station. The trail connects Hongde Temple (Sun Bin Temple) and Bilong Temple (Turtle Temple). With gentle slopes, shaded pavilions, and abundant trees, the trail also features the famous landmark "Yingge Rock." The round trip takes about an hour. While there are stairs leading to Yingge Rock and the observation deck, the path from Hongde Temple to Nonglin Zen Temple to Bilong Temple is relatively flat and easy to walk. You can also enjoy distant views of the art museum and take photos. Free parking is available at Hongde Temple/Plaza, making it very convenient.
