Nanjing: Where History Meets Modern Life

Nanjing, the ancient capital of China, is a city full of history, culture, and vibrant modern life. Spending a day here feels like traveling through time while enjoying today’s energy. My day started at the famous Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, located on the scenic Purple Mountain. The grand staircase and peaceful surroundings made it a perfect place to reflect on China’s history and admire beautiful views of the city below. Next, I visited the Confucius Temple area, where traditional architecture meets lively streets filled with shops and food stalls. I tried Nanjing’s famous salted duck and sweet Osmanthus cake, which were both delicious and unique. In the afternoon, I walked along the ancient city wall, one of the best-preserved city walls in China. From there, I enjoyed panoramic views of Nanjing’s mix of old and new buildings. As evening came, I took a boat ride on the Qinhuai River, watching the colorful lanterns light up the water and the lively atmosphere on the riverbanks. Nanjing is a city where history lives in every corner, yet it’s full of life and surprises for every traveler.
