The Ritz-Carlton, Nanjing is the 101st Ritz in the world. The owner, Deji, spent 1.5 billion yuan and it took four years to design it. It was commissioned by Japan's Design Studio Spin. It combines the oriental aesthetics of Kyoto Ritz-Carlton and Tokyo Otemachi Four Seasons with western elegance, and is based on the cultural elements of Nanjing, with the five elements of gold, wood, water, fire and earth as the connecting points. This time we stayed in a deluxe lake view room, which is 55 square meters. There is a foyer and walk-in closet at the entrance, which is convenient for storing clothes and luggage. There is a desk, bookcase and water bar on the left to facilitate handling affairs. The leisure area and bathroom are placed by the window, where you can enjoy the beautiful view. The entire scale, traffic flow design and functional zoning are very appropriate, which is very convenient for daily life. First, it is equipped with top-grade Simmons Beauty mattress, TOTO automatic toilet, German Kaldewei bathtub, German Dornbracht shower, Tivoli Audio Bluetooth speaker and wireless charger, dyptique fig series spare parts, FRETTE specially customized bathrobes, and even the mouthwash cup and weight scale are from German Schott Zwiesel and Aliseo. Second, the hotel has great taste. The art installations in the entire hotel cover 16 countries, more than 70 artists, over 300 artworks, more than 900 ornaments, and more than 6,000 books. The "Tender Lotus with Dew Tea Set" for drinking tea is Yixing celadon, which was made by ceramic art master Tan Zhijian himself. Behind the bed is the Suzhou embroidery work "Lotus Charm" by embroidery master Liang Xuefang, which echoes the print "Wormhole" created by Chen Qi in the rest area. The glass partition is covered with gold foil elements, matching Nanjing's status as China's largest gold foil production area. The bookcase is not only filled with real books, but also with items related to Jinling's history, humanities and art. Even the wall lamps are wrapped in flocking. The eight paintings behind the sofas in the lobby lounge are also works by famous artists. Third, the service is good. When ordering a few packets of Earl Grey tea, the hotel staff will first address the guest by their last name, then their English name, ask about their needs, and then ask if the guest needs water or other needs. When finishing the call, they will give their full name again and wish the guest a happy life. This is very standard and insightful service. At night, they will clean the room, replenish various supplies, and organize the guest's belongings. This is the style of a luxury hotel. Among the five restaurants, I tried Pining Mansion and Flair. The service and products of the former were excellent, while the space of the latter was a bit narrow, not as good as those in Chengdu and Xi'an. The breakfast is Western style, with few varieties, but it is exquisite and tastes good. There is no a la carte option, but there are freshly squeezed juices and ice cream, as well as desserts to choose from.
