Nanjing's ginkgo trees: A glimpse of the ancient capital of Jinling in autumn (Part 2)

One library and two campuses Jinling Library in Hexi New Town, Jianye District, was first built in 1927. The new library, completed in 2009, is a stunning "jade from stone" design. The ginkgo trees are located at the south gate, and while not many, they create a beautiful scene. Nanjing University's Gulou Campus is the former site of Jinling University. Most of the ginkgo trees are in the North Garden, with a few near the east wall. Nanjing Normal University's Suiyuan Campus in Gulou District was formerly Jinling Women's University. The campus was designed by architectural masters Murphy and Lü Yanzhi. The ginkgo trees on both sides of Building 100 are over a century old, adding to the autumn beauty of the "most beautiful campus in the East." Two mountains and two roads Qingliang Mountain in Gulou District is the site of the "tiger" of Jinling's scenic spots. The Jinling City of the Warring States Period and the Shitou City of the Three Kingdoms Period were both located here. The ginkgo trees are found in Ginkgo Valley and Qingliang Temple. The former has over 300 trees, while the latter is a charming contrast to the ancient temple. "Spring at Niushou, autumn at Qixia." Qixia Mountain in Qixia District is famous for its red leaves, but the two ginkgo trees at Qixia Temple are even more eye-catching. Beijing West Road in Gulou District is lined with ginkgo and plane trees, earning it the title of "Nanjing's most beautiful ginkgo avenue." The Ginkgo Cultural and Art Street in Jianye District, which opened last year, combines the autumn ginkgo scenery with a trendy street. Three parks Another ginkgo viewing spot in Jianye District is Hexi Riverside Park, not far from the Ginkgo Cultural and Art Street. The 1 km-long avenue is lined with 500 ginkgo trees, making it a true "golden avenue" in autumn. Nanjing Drum Tower, with a history of over 600 years, is located in the center of a traffic hub. It was converted into Drum Tower Park in 1923. The park has only a few ginkgo trees, but they make the perfect foreground for photographing ancient buildings. Zhongshan Botanical Garden in Xuanwu District is China's first national botanical garden. The ginkgo avenue has only 40 trees, but they create a stunning autumn scene. To visit all these ginkgo viewing spots, mark their locations on a map and group nearby spots into a single route. For example, Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum and Zhongshan Botanical Garden are both on Purple Mountain, while Chongzheng Academy is on the eastern slope of Qingliang Mountain.
