Phumin Temple

Wat Phumin is located in Mueang District, Nan Province. Another temple that if you come to Nan and don't stop by, it's like you haven't been to Wat Phumin. It's a famous temple with murals called Pu Man, Ya Man, or the world-famous Whisper of Love, which has become a symbol of Nan. The unique beauty of Wat Phumin is the four-sided ordination hall with Naga stairs in all four directions. Inside, there is a four-sided Buddha statue. No matter which way you climb the stairs, you will see the Buddha's face on every side. Wat Phumin was built around 2139 by Phra Chao Chetbut Phrommin, the ruler of Nan, after he had ruled Nan for 6 years. It is recorded in the Northern Scriptures that the original name was "Wat Phrommin", which was the name of Phra Chao Chetbut Phrommin, the temple builder.
