It is believed that it was first built during the reign of King Ashoka the Great and underwent a major renovation during the reign of King Rama IV. Phra Pathom Chedi is a bell-shaped pagoda in Sukhothai art style. Inside the temple, there is also Phra Ruang Rojanarit, a sacred Buddha image that people respect.
