Many major festivals and events are held here. 🎊 Among the eight major shrines in Ryukyu, Naminoue Shrine ranks first and is considered the "country's primary shrine" and is highly revered. This is a holy place where people pray toward "Nirai-Kanai (the Pure Land)". Ships trading with various countries would pass through Naha Port and look out at the high cliffs where the Naminoue Shrine and the shrine are located, praying for a safe voyage and expressing gratitude.
