The historic Osu Kannon Temple

The full name of Osu Kannon Temple is Kitanoyama Shinpuku-ji Hoshoin, which has a very long history. In 1324, Emperor Daigo ordered the Osu Kannon Temple to be the annex temple of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. In 1612, during the reign of Tokugawa Ieyasu, it was moved to the current Osu area in Nagoya. The temple is very popular and is as famous as Sensoji Temple in Tokyo.
