Miryang Travel Miryang Temple

#Must-see historic site Pyochungsa (表忠寺) was founded by Wonhyo Daesa in the first year of King Taejong Muyeol of Silla (654). It is said that the temple name at the time of its founding was Jukrimsa (竹林寺). The bamboo forest surrounding Pyochungsa is still so thick that you can nod your head deeply as you think that it was a temple literally covered in a bamboo forest. Then, in the fourth year of King Heungdeok (829), the name of the temple was changed to Yeongjeongsa (靈井寺). This is after Hwangmyeon Seonsa (黃面禪師), who was presumed to have been an Indian monk, came in with the Buddha's real sarira and built a three-story stone pagoda to enshrine the Buddha's sarira and rebuilt the temple. #Pyochungsa #Miryang Travel
