Milan's Must-Visit Landmark: Milan Cathedral

When in Milan, you absolutely must visit the top of the Milan Cathedral at least once. Located in the city center, the Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano) is one of the most magnificent Gothic buildings in the world. This church, which took six centuries to complete, is truly stunning!!!! You can reach the roof by elevator or on foot. This time, we bought tickets that allowed us to take the elevator directly to the top. Once at the top, you can walk around the perimeter. The exterior walls of the church have over 3,400 statues, each intricately carved, leaving you in awe of the craftsmanship of the past! From biblical stories and historical figures to mythical creatures, the variety is astounding! One of the most unique experiences at the Milan Cathedral is climbing to the roof to admire the finely detailed spires and sculptures up close, while also enjoying a panoramic view of Milan. Inside the church, the first thing that catches your eye is the massive stained glass windows. These windows depict biblical stories, and the colorful light that filters through them creates a solemn and mysterious atmosphere. It's truly beautiful!!!
