You have to do this when you're in Melaka!! I would recommend taking the night cruise as they surrounding building , bridges etc. are all colorfully lighted up and you have a better experience strolling down the river. You can also see (and wave) to the people strolling by the riverside or having their drinks/meal at the many outlets along the river. There are few locations in town to take the river cruise, however if you're driving i would advice taking it from Taman Rempah jetty.
