Matsumoto Castle

Matsumoto Castle, located in Nagano Prefecture, is also known as "Crow Castle" due to its black walls resembling a crow. The castle is constructed entirely of wood without using a single nail. While it appears to have five floors from the outside, it actually has six floors inside. Matsumoto Castle has been designated as a "National Treasure of Japan." From this spot, you can enjoy a view of the Japanese Alps. The surrounding area features a public park where both tourists and locals come to relax. We visited in the evening, and the atmosphere was wonderful—cool and pleasant. For those interested in exploring the interior of Matsumoto Castle, the entrance fee is ¥700 💵. ⏰ Open from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM). 🚶♀️➡️ It's about a 15-minute walk from Matsumoto Station.
