Wat Saeng Kaew Phothiyan: A Blend of Lanna, Tai Yai, and Burmese Art

Wat Saeng Kaew Phothiyan is located on Doi Mon Saeng Kaew in Jedee Luang Subdistrict, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province. This temple holds significance both in terms of religion and tourism. It was founded by Phra Khru Ba Ariyachart Ariyachitto in 2006 after he experienced a vision indicating the sacredness of this site. 📌 Architecture and Highlights • The Great Viharn: Houses a large Buddha statue in the Mara Vichaya posture, serving as the principal Buddha image of the temple. • The Pagoda: Situated atop the hill, it enshrines sacred relics of the Buddha. • Reclining Buddha Viharn: Features a Buddha statue in the reclining posture. • Buddha Statue Garden: Displays numerous Buddha statues in various postures. • Scenic Viewpoint: Offers stunning views of Doi Mae Suai and the Kok River. Wat Saeng Kaew Phothiyan is also home to statues of three revered monks: Khruba Siwichai, Khruba Apichai Khao Pi, and Khruba Chaiwongsa Phatthana. Notably, the statue of Khruba Siwichai is made of pure gold and is the largest of its kind in the world.
