The pagoda was built to make merit for His Majesty King Rama IX and the Queen Mother (the Queen during the reign of King Rama IX). The twin pagodas are Phra Mahathat Naphamethanidon (brown pagoda) and Phra Mahathat Naphaphonphumisiri (purple-pink pagoda), enshrined tall and majestically. Inside the pagoda, there is a beautiful Buddha statue. Walking around the pagoda, you can see the view on Doi Inthanon and the area has a flower garden and winter vegetables. There are many photo spots and the weather is great.
