The first generation of gambling king's mansion in Xiguan.

At No. 7 Largo do Leal Senado in Macau, there is an old mansion that was completed in the fifteenth year of the Guangxu reign (1889) and was the former residence of the famous Macau businessman Lu Huashao (Lu Jiu) family, also known as Jinyutang. Lu Jiu was from Xinhui, Guangdong, and came from a poor background, but became the first generation of gambling king in Macau and was extremely wealthy. Although the Lu family declined later, the Lu family mansion was preserved. The Lu Family Mansion is said to be modeled after the Guangzhou Xiguan Mansion. It incorporates Western elements into the style of traditional Cantonese residential architecture from the late Qing Dynasty, and is gentle and delicate. Lu Family Mansion is a two-story thick brick building with a three-section layout of front hall, middle hall, and back hall. The mansion is decorated with gray sculptures, wood carvings, imitation brick carvings, as well as Lingnan-style oyster shell windows, Manchurian windows, and Western-style cast iron flower patterns. The Lu Family Mansion is not far from the Rose Virgin Church, currently only the first floor is open for visitation, and admission is free. Address: No. 7, Travessa do Matadouro, Macau.
