Sakkarin Cave Temple

Address: Ban Xieng Man, Chomphet District, Luang Prabang Province, Lao PDR Travel Method - The best way to travel is to rent a bicycle and take a ferry from the Luang Prabang city side to the Xieng Man side (the ferry terminal is located behind the Royal Palace). After disembarking from the ferry, it's just about a 1-kilometer ride along the Mekong River side of the village to reach the temple. Tourist Attraction - It is one of the ancient temples located along the Mekong River. The temple is adjacent to a cliff by the river, which has a small cave with a Buddha statue inside. However, currently, it is not possible to enter and can only be viewed from the outside. There is a belief that the place is sacred and inhabited by a Naga serpent that protects the area. Highlights - The temple area is shaded with trees and has a riverside spot where you can enjoy the view of Luang Prabang city from this side of the Mekong River. There is also a Buddha statue enshrined by the riverbank where visitors can come to worship and pray for blessings.
