Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, Lopburi is a large abandoned temple covering an area of ​​approximately 20 rai. The layout of the temple has a large prang in the center of the temple, surrounded by buildings and pagodas. From the architectural style and sculptures found in the temple, it is assumed that this temple has been built and renovated continuously since the 18th - 19th Buddhist century, approximately 100 years before the establishment of Ayutthaya. There is evidence that King Maha Chakkraphat renovated this temple once. Later, King Narai the Great ordered the construction of a covered walkway pagoda and a chapel, along with another renovation. During the reign of King Borommakot, it was renovated again. Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat has important architecture, namely a large prang in the center of the temple, surrounded by covered walkways. The main prang is made of laterite. On the east side, there is a protruding porch. In front, there are smaller prangs on the north and south sides. Therefore, there are three main prangs. In front of the main prang is the location of the royal chapel. (Nine-roomed Temple) Built during the reign of King Narai the Great, it is a large temple. The doors are in Thai architectural style. The windows are in the shape of lotus petals and surrounded by a glass wall. The Sala Pliang Khruang is located in front, next to the Royal Temple. It is a place for the King to change his clothes before entering to perform religious ceremonies. There are also small pagodas, prangs, and various temple buildings built in various eras.
