The heart of the city is Prešeren Square, where music often plays, locals meet, and you can’t help but feel the pulse of Ljubljana. I wandered across the Triple Bridge, designed by the famed architect Jože Plečnik, whose genius has left an elegant stamp all over the city. One thing I loved most was the vibe. It’s eco-conscious, youthful, and full of soul. The riverbanks are lined with open-air cafes where you can sip coffee or Slovenian wine while swans glide by. Visit Metelkova Mesto, an alternative art space and cultural center in a former army barracks. Take a day trip to Lake Bled or Postojna Cave, both easily accessible.
