Guizhou Trip - Tang'an Terraces

1 The terraces of Tang'an Dong Village. Tang'an Dong Village is not far from Zhaoxing Dong Village, just a 20-minute drive away. The car drives extremely stylishly on the winding mountain road, without reducing speed, and there are some slight drifts when turning. I feel that for racing competitions, drivers from mountainous areas should participate. They are experienced and skilled, with a bit of pride. The beauty of Tang'an Terraces is breathtaking. If you haven't been to Tang'an, you can't imagine how beautiful it is. Only when you reach Tang'an do you realize that the natural sculpting of Tang'an, between the twilight sky and earth, is stunningly beautiful. The distant mountains undulate, wrapped in clouds and mist, showing you the true meaning of 'only this green'—like ink spreading. Light and faint. From blue to green. From green to ink. From ink to color. Layer upon layer, it spreads, both heavily and lightly. The terraces of the village crisscross. Shaped by the mountains. Layer upon layer. Irregular. Different. Small and large. Deep and shallow water. With vegetables, flowers, fish, and snails. The stilted houses by the mountain exude tranquility in their scattered arrangement. The red that faintly reveals in the sky paints the stilted houses with a layer of hazy warmth. They are like hermits, steadfastly guarding that piece of 'serenity', content and at ease, with just the right amount of 'tranquility'. I think beauty cannot be painted. Every morning is different, every evening is different. Every day's sun is different, every day's moon is different. Every day's Tang'an Terraces are also different. Perhaps some people see the 'brilliance' of the rapeseed flowers covering the terraces. Perhaps some see the 'lushness' of the green rice seedlings 🌾 in the terraces. And we see the 'gap' of the terraces between green and yellow. But, regardless of the state, its beauty is still the kind that is blended with countless colors and planted in your heart, 'just right'. I think, to see 'beauty', you must see it live. It makes all my journeys at that moment extremely worthwhile and full of surprises. 2 Tang'an Dong Village. It is a Dong village that has not been fully developed. No tickets. No commerce. No noise. The Dong people there are more primitive and full of simplicity. The village is not big. The main road is not long. Besides a few restaurants and occasional photo shops on both sides, there is basically no commerce. Most of the stilted houses still maintain their original style. The construction between the buildings is full of a strong sense of community. From one house to another, you can pass through other houses directly. And never worry about losing things. This kind of primitive trust has long disappeared in our cities, where our defenses are often too rigid. In fact, there are not many young people in the village. The elderly, children, and young women are the main residents of the village. A drum tower is not big. Dong women play and sing with the unique pipa of the Dong people. The original sound, without any professional training, still blooms with the 'vastness' of the original flavor. I actually like this kind of singing, although I don't understand the Dong language, such songs have both 'bones' and 'soul'. Strolling slowly with my sister. Slowly passing through the stone-paved steps between the stilted houses. Seeing bundles of firewood cut by the Dong people piled outside their doors. Seeing older grandmothers with their heads down, hunched over, sitting on low stools embroidering sachets. Seeing small children running up and down the slopes happily. Seeing the pure smile of the girl guarding the shop door, without a trace of falsehood. Seeing a tie-dye shop halfway up the slope, with a small courtyard full of rapeseed flowers, a large natural rock in the corner of the shop, half inside and half outside, with a wall built on the rock, exuding an indescribable 'rustic', filling the whole house with poetry. Tang'an. Really good.
