Lablae City Museum, Lablae City Arch, Uttaradit Province

The Lablae Museum is located in Lablae District, Uttaradit Province. It recreates the history of the city and the way of life of the locals through exhibits on each house. Lablae is a small district in Uttaradit Province. Traveling back and forth is inconvenient, and the winding roads make it easy for people who are not familiar with the way to get lost. This is why it is called Lablae City. Just 8 kilometers from Uttaradit City, you will see a large Lablae city gate, which means that you have officially entered Lablae City. A landmark that everyone must visit is the statue of a widow standing next to the gate. There is another symbol of Lablae City, which is a statue of a young woman holding a child with a sad expression. On the side is a statue of her husband sitting with his head bowed, holding a bag of turmeric, ready to leave Lablae City. At the base is an inscription saying “Just be honest”, which represents the legend of Lablae City, telling the story of a widow who sacrificed herself to keep her promise, which is a city rule that forbids lying. Next to the gate is the Lablae Museum. The museum building is a wooden house on stilts in an ancient Thai style, similar to Lablae City. On the top of the house, there are various utensils, ancient rice milling equipment, and granaries on display. There are simulations of elephant pens, horse pens, pig pens, coconut groves, and betel nut groves, showing the community's agricultural occupations from the past to the present.
